Via a report from Wrestlenomics, according to a local organization, Wrestlemania 42 will no longer be hosted in New Orleans.
It was previously announced on the February 21st, 2025 edition of Smackdown by The Rock that Wrestlemania would be returning to New Orleans, Louisiana on April 11th and 12th of 2026.
However, things appear to have changed as according to Wrestlenomics, The Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation has stated that Wrestlemania in New Orleans will be rescheduled for a later date, with Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful reporting that both WWE talent and staff are unsure of where the new location will be for Mania 42.
But it is noted that this rescheduling comes as part of a bigger deal that’ll bring Money in the Bank to The Big Easy next year, with Mania coming in a later year.
“The Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation and New Orleans & Company are working closely with our friends at TKO to expand our long-standing partnership,” a statement from the Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation reads, “which will include UFC 318 on July 19, 2025, Money In The Bank in 2026, and WrestleMania – which will move from the currently scheduled 2026 timeframe to a future year.”
The reasoning for this decision is currently left unclear, and The Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation described their statement as a joint statement from both themselves and the WWE.
UPDATE: It is currently being widely reported, but not yet officially announced, that Wrestlemania 42 will instead return to Las Vegas, Nevada, just one year after Mania 41 had been hosted in Sin City. This was reported by NOLA News which stated
“After the success of this year’s event, the new leadership running WWE decided that they would rather hold next year’s event in Las Vegas and see what response they get from fans, according to an industry official who wasn’t authorized to be quoted by name.”
This would also be backed up by Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful, who would state that someone who was previously tied to the WWE had also heard this news.
However, with nothing official, there is also speculation that Wrestlemania 42 will be held in an international location, with some looking to London, England.
