With the wrestling world reeling from the results of Wrestlemania such as Jey Uso defeating GUNTHER, Iyo Sky being victorious in the Triple Threat match, the return of The Man Becky Lynch and Paul Heyman betraying both CM Punk and Roman Reigns, as well as some things that took place after the Showcase of the Immortals… what happened on the RAW After Mania that Triple H promised was “going to be big, and a lot on it and it’s gonna be exciting.”
John Cena starts off the show
At the end of Wrestlemania 41: Night Two John Cena would make history by breaking Ric Flair’s record and becoming the most decorated WWE superstar in history, winning his 17th world title in controversial fashion after utilizing an exposed turnbuckle, an appearance from Travis Scott, a low blow and the Undisputed WWE Championship.
With an entrance only slightly more extravagant than his Mania entrance due to some pyro, Cena would make his way to the ring. He would proceed to call in the ring announcer, deeming his introduction disrespectful and making him do it again, but better. He’d then state, “Winners write history,” before calling the crowd unworthy. He would then state that he is owed an apology, but the WWE Universe was not brave enough to do it; this would be met with the crowd chanting, “We aren’t sorry.”
John Cena would then remind everyone that he had only promised thirty-six dates, and then he’s gone, before counting down how many appearances he has already made. Twenty-seven dates remaining. He would then state that it’s not matches, but appearances. He would then claim that he can just show up, he doesn’t have to wrestle. He can simply show up, cut a promo, and leave until his final appearance, and then he’ll take the championship previously held by the likes of Bruno Sammartino home with him.
He would then tell the crowd to get a nice good picture because this would be the last time the last real champion is here, but he would then get hit with an RKO from outta nowhere! Randy Orton has set his sights on the Undisputed WWE Championship.
Women’s Tag Team Championships: Liv Morgan & Raquel Rodriguez def. Becky Lynch & Lyra Valkyria (C), Becky Lynch attacks Lyra Valkyria.
After her return at Wrestlemania where Becky would team with Lyra Valkyria, Becky Lynch would have her first match back on Monday Night RAW in just under a year with a Wrestlemania rematch against Liv Morgan & Raquel Rodriguez for the Women’s Tag Team titles. The winner of this match would be set to defend the titles tomorrow against Tatum Paxley and Gigi Dolin on NXT, and the team would be watching closely from ringside.
Becky Lynch would not appear to show any ring rust in the match, moving just like she did a year ago. All four women would get a chance to shine, with Becky fending off both Raquel and and Liv at one moment, before Liv would intervene during a superplex attempt from Becky & Lyra, hitting her unique sunset flip powerbomb off the top before Raquel would deadlift Lyra and hit her with an avalanche powerbomb for a near fall. Lyra would be able to hit her finisher the Nightwing on her much larger opponent Raquel, but only for a nearfall thanks to Liv Morgan on the outside.
The match would reach its conclusion when Lyra Valkyria would attempt to hit Liv Morgan with a Nightwing, only for Raquel to grab onto Liv Morgan’s leg and prevent her from hitting it. Becky would try to pull Raquel off of the apron, but Raquel would boot her away. Lyra would proceed to knock Raquel off of the apron, but she would land on Becky on the outside. With Lyra checking on her tag team partner, she would unintentionally be in prime position for an Oblivion from Liv Morgan that would end the match.
After the match, Becky Lynch would help Lyra Valkyria to her feet, only to drop her to the mat with a clothesline. With Lyra lying stunned on the mat, Becky would return and continuously strike Lyra, before hitting her with back-to-back-to-back Manhandle Slams.
The New Day make their first appearance after winning the World Tag Team Championships, Rusev returns!
After picking up the surprise victory at Wrestlemania: Night One against The War Raiders, The New Day would arrive on Monday Night RAW for the first time since winning the titles. Kofi would boldly proclaim that there’s no tag team alive or dead that’s better than The New Day while wearing a fur coat you’d find on a. They would very quickly be interrupted by The Alpha Academy, Otis and Tozawa accompanied by Maxxine Dupri.
Maxxine would remind The New Day that the last time they fought Alpha Academy, Otis & Tozawa defeated The New Day in sixty seconds. She would then proceed to lay down a challenge, challenging The New Day on behalf of Otis & Tozawa to a match for the World Tag Team championships. The New Day would decline, and Maxxine would ask if “The Minute Men” were scared, which would goad The New Day into accepting the challenge. However, before the match could begin, the lights would go out and horns could be heard blaring through the arena… Rusev would return and make his way to the ring. The New Day would quickly flee, and Rusev would single handedly take out Alpha Academy with ease, tossing Tozawa completely across the ring and leveling Otis with multiple kicks before locking in The Accolade on the big man while the crowd chanted “Rusev Day!”
Non-Title Match: Iyo Sky def. Stephanie Vaquer via Disqualification
Iyo Sky would make an appearance, taking to the microphone and stating that last night was the best night of her career and stating that she’s “over the moon” after beating the best there is, which in turn means that she is the best. While the crowd chanted “You deserve it” she would state that both Rhea and Bianca tried to forget her, but all of the WWE Universe refused to forget her.
Iyo Sky would then be interrupted by the current NXT Women’s champion, La Primera, Stephanie Vaquer! Stephanie had previously stated that one of her dream matches in the WWE was a match against Iyo Sky. Vaquer would congratulate Iyo Sky on her victory, before introducing herself to Iyo Sky and then stating that she’s there to show Iyo respect.
Vaquer would go on to state that she wants to fight the best of the best, a clear challenge, and Iyo Sky would state that she accepts the challenge… and Adam Pearce would come out on the stage to make it official.
After being made official by Adam Pearce, a non-title match would begin between Vaquer and Iyo Sky, starting off with some chain wrestling between the two that would place both Iyo and Vaquer on equal footing. But, it wouldn’t take Iyo long to get the upper hand as she utilized her high-flying offense.
Both women would show off some of their signature offense to chants of “This is awesome” and “Fight forever” from the Las Vegas crowd, including Stephanie’s headscissor mat slam, which the crowd really enjoyed, even chanting “One more time.”
The match would reach its conclusion when Roxanne Perez would show up and attack Iyo Sky, costing Vaquer the match ahead of their NXT Women’s title match. Giulia would then appear from out of nowhere, booting Vaquer and a beatdown would take place as Roxanne and Giulia attacked Iyo and Vaquer, until Rhea Ripley would make the save. Rhea would chase off Roxanne, and would proceed to have a staredown with The Beautiful Madness Giulia, before then setting her sights on Iyo Sky. Rhea would reluctantly hand Iyo her championship, but would make it abundantly clear to Iyo that she still wanted the Women’s World Championship.
Jey Uso makes his first appearance as World Heavyweight champion
Following a fantastic match-up between Stephanie Vaquer and Iyo Sky which lead to scenarios you could see in somebody’s WWE 2K Universe Mode, a hype package would play for Jey Uso, showcasing his journey to becoming world heavyweight champion before recapping the opening match of Wrestlemania: Night One, all while Macklemore’s “Chant” played. After the video played, Jey Uso would make his way down to the ring through a wave of people “YEETing.” Before he could speak, the crowd would chant “One more time” and Jey Uso would oblige, telling them to play his music again for a brief second session of “YEETing.”
Jey would then begin to speak, stating that he’s “here now” and that he’s been wanting it ever since he was a kid. He would state that it was a long, hard road to get here and that he gave it everything he had to beat GUNTHER. He would then promise to show up every week and put the work in before Sami Zayn would make his return after his Unsanctioned match against Kevin Owens at Elimination Chamber.
Sami would state that it was very hard for him to miss out on Wrestlemania this year and that he almost didn’t come to Las Vegas at all, but he would add that he had to so he could make sure that he was the first one to come out and look Jey Uso in the eye and tell Jey just how proud he is. The celebration would then commence with both Jey Uso and Sami Zayn “YEETing” with the crowd, but would be interrupted by Jimmy Uso, who also wanted to celebrate, and thus a three-way YEET would ensue.
The segment would end and it would still leave us with the question of who would be Jey Uso’s first opponent as world champion.
EDIT: After a commercial break, GUNTHER would show up at ringside and approach Michael Cole and Pat McAfee at commentary, irate. He would proceed to shove Pat McAfee to the ground, before locking Michael Cole in a sleeper hold. Pat would save Michael Cole, hitting GUNTHER in the side of the head with a forearm before producers would separate the two. When Pat McAfee turned his back, GUNTHER would strike and lock in a sleeper hold on Pat McAfee, choking out the commentator and podcast host before being escorted away by Jason Jordan while the crowd chanted “F–k you GUNTHER!”
Intercontinental Championship: Dominik Mysterio (C) def. Penta
It was time for the next match, which would take place between Penta and Dominik Mysterio for the Intercontinental championship, while Michael Cole tried to compose himself following the attack from GUNTHER.
Penta would try to make up for his loss at Wrestlemania, which took place without him being involved in any form or fashion during the final pinfall, but Finn Balor would be a looming figure in the match, with him having been seen staring at Dominik’s Intercontinental title during an earlier segment.
Penta would hit much of his signature offense against Dominik Mysterio, including a Canadian Destroyer; however, much of the commentary would appear to be focused on Michael Cole and GUNTHER.
The match would end after J.D. McDonagh would make a surprise appearance, shoving Penta off of the turnbuckle while Carlito distracted the referee, leading to Dominik Mysterio setting Penta up and connecting with a 619, which would be followed up by a frog splash for the victory.
Seth Rollins & Paul Heyman Address The WWE Universe After Joining Forces at Mania
The night would come to a close with Seth Rollins and his new wise man, or maybe even advocate, Paul Heyman, coming to the ring. The new pairing would soak in the sounds of the crowd, which would range from them singing Seth’s song to chants of “F–k you, Heyman!” Heyman would hand Seth a microphone and Seth would state “I am a visionary, I am a revolutionary, I took the wise man from Roman Reigns, I took Punk’s best friend, I am the winner of the main event of Wrestlemania, I am Seth-” He would then be interrupted by CM Punk, who would be taping up his hand as he made his way to the ring, making it clear he was looking for a fight.
Punk would get Seth in the corner, pummeling The Visionary with punches and stomps before turning his attention to his former best friend, Paul Heyman. However, Seth would capitalize on this distraction by gouging Punk’s eyes before hitting a curb stomp. The crowd would proceed to chant for Roman Reigns, chanting “OTC!” and “We want Roman!” while Seth and Heyman loomed over CM Punk. Heyman would then take to the microphone, stating, “We are going to conclude the weekend of Wrestlemania 41 by propelling the news all the way to Wrestlemania 42, there is a new reigning, defending, undisputed number one top star in this entire industry. Ladies and gentlemen, Seth Freakin’ Rollins!”
Roman Reigns’s music would then hit, causing Seth and Heyman to become visibly worried as The Tribal Chief arrived. Roman wouldn’t take long to hit a spear on his former Shield brethren, before then hitting his former wiseman, Paul Heyman, with a Superman Punch! Roman would stalk Heyman, getting ready to hit him with a spear, but he would be intercepted by the former Intercontinental champion, Bron Breakker! Breakker would come face to face with Seth Rollins, before spearing CM Punk as well.
Breakker would then circle around the ring after an embrace from Rollins, before spearing Roman Reigns through the barricade! Seth would direct traffic, telling Breakker to bring Roman Reigns into the ring, where Breakker would hold Roman in place while Seth hit CM Punk with another curb stomp. Seth would state that this business runs through him before hitting Roman Reigns with a curb stomp as well.
RAW After Mania ends with Seth Rollins, Bron Breakker, and Paul Heyman standing side by side and with their arms held high.
